OK, so to recap the rules we hammered out from the other thread:
Here are the rules:
1. Only use WoTC products.
2. Must have levels of Illithid Savant, and ECL 20 (from monster and character levels).
3. We ARE using the hotly contested "lose PrC benefits if you lose the prereqs." rule.
4. No level draining chicanery, Though Bottle tomfoolery, Werebeast/Savage Species transformations, or any blatantly abusive.... mmmm.... abuse..... of the level system. Known infinite loops are right out as well.
5. Any ability gained from the Illithid Savant class must be gained from a monster/character with a CR equal to the Illthid Savant's ECL at the character level where that ability is gained by the Savant.
For example, an ECL 14 Illithid Savant should not have any stolen stuff from anything higher than CR 14. At level 20, you should have, at best, stuff from monsters or characters that are CR 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 respectively.
6. For this contest, the ECL on the Mind Flayer will be 8.
7. Brains eaten should come from creatures with a brain(singular) that can be digested in a biological kind of way. Be reasonable, but this means that most Constructs, Oozes, Swarms and Elementals are out, as are summoned monsters(since the brain vanishes on death).

Re: Best Illthid Savant Class contest entries.
Gah, and I read "on this thread" and put a way too massive entry there. Ok, here is an attempt at my dumb entry "lite".
Big entry remains wasting space with only two or so minor errors.
here
If a more rambling ass of an explanation is required.
Psionic Illithid Savant
ECL 8 - Psionic Mind Flayer as XPH. Custom selection of known powers, PC rather than common attributes, custom skill point selection.
ECL 9 - 1st level Illithid Savant - Consume PsiCraft skill for known powers research abuse.
ECL 10 - 2nd Illithid Savant - Whatever feat.
ECL 11 - 3rd Illithid Savant - Whatever Class Ability.
ECL 12 - 4th Illithid Savant - Whatever again.
ECL 13 - 5th Illithid Savant - Cosumes "Psionic Powers" ability of any psionic mind flayer, can be as low as his own starting CR. May have confusing temporary or long terms effects.
ECL 14 - 1st level Psion(telepath) - suddenly stacks this level with two lots of 9 levels from mind flayer special attack "psionic powers". Becomes 19th level psion caster. 15 new known powers can be of up to 9th level. 5 consecutive psionic wishes immediately become available for fat permanent stat boosts if desired.
ECL 15 - 6th level Illithid Savant - Whatever
ECL 16 - 7th level Illithid Savant - Infinite PP once a day from a metamind.
ECL 17 - 8th level Illithid Savant - Whatever
ECL 18 - 9th level Illithid Savant - Another psionic illithids "Psionic Powers" special attack.
ECL 19 - 2nd level psion(telepath) - Caster level jumps to 29th, more high level known powers for free.
ECL 20 - 10th level Illithid Savant - High level Wilders Wild Surge +6 class ability with no draw backs for free +6 caster level to everything and some free augmentation.
Reason for being - Just stacking on levels of psion to the starting monster instead leaves him with much lower caster level and abilities (in the long term, this build is a bit behind from ECL 9 to 13). If the damn LA was a consideration a straight psion remains behind the curve at his key trick, being a psion caster, forever, while this build actually pulls a little ahead. So this is a way of doing a straight psion caster of an illithid and keeping up, somewhat.
All other stats and stuff don't matter much. If this isn't considered a sufficiently detailed build to enter let me know and I'll edit the post to fill out desired details.

Re: Best Illthid Savant Class contest entries.
Here is a wierd idea tha came to mind:
The Immortal
Mindflayer/Illithid Savant 10/Sorcerer 2(casts as a 26)
ECL/levels:
9/Sorcerer 1
10/Sorcerer 2
11/Illithid Savant 1
--Acquire skill(Hide 22 from a CR 9 Expert 18)
12/Illithid Savant 2
--Some feat
13/Illithid Savant 3
--Acquire class feature(Auspicer: Luck of the Gods)
14/Illithid Savant 4
Skill/feat
15/Illithid Savant 5
SA or SQ: Doppleganger or Rakshasa(Change Form)
16/Illithid Savant 6
skill/feat
17/Illithid Savant 7
--Acquire class feature(Telflammar Shadowlord: Shadow Discorporation)
18/Illithid Savant 8
skill/feat
19/Illithid Savant 9
--Aquire SA or LA: (Spells: Slyph)
20/Illithid Savant 10:
--Acquire class feature (Cloud Anchorite: Immortality of the mountain)
So he's a powerful sorcerer, lives in the form of a human(but never looses his race), can't be killed unless he's in bright light (As Shadow Discorporation will prevent and damage-related death with a small to huge save, which Luck of the Gods will get you automatically no matter how high the DC is), and he's never growing older. Toss in a few magic items for immunities to poison, ability damage, and death effects, and he is truly immortal in anything but bright light.
The truly paranoid would turn him Half Golem to pick up crazy immunities from Construct(or Use Luck of the Gods to auto-save, not go Construct, and get 4 Clay Golem limbs for a +16 Con), but for this contest I wasn't sure of the ECL for HGs. The Magic Immunity would prevent a huge number of death and debilitating effects.
Basically, its a bunch of "fun" abilities that could be easily minmaxed for crazy power. I'll work it up in a few days.

K, an expert 18 is CR 17.
However, depending on your interpretation of the associated class rules, a krenshar expert 16 may be CR 9.

Re: Best Illthid Savant Class contest entries.
Look its just fine under Frank's interpretation and barely interferes with your build if you do it like this.
You eat your hide skill at ECL 11. Under your rather, uh, non generous brain eating limitations this means that even though your CR or (real) ECL is higher thats an 11 CR treat.
But lets say we grab a monster thats CR, with maxed out hide. Thats 10 ranks, whack on 7 more levels of expert, which are less than its hit die so don't conflict with Franks interpretation and thats 17 ranks from a CR 11.5 (does that bend your CR limit or does it round down? Heck just loose another rank and make it 6 levels of expert for 16 ranks).
I'm not sure how that interferes with your build as to whether your really need all 22 hide right away or what, but if it does you can stack on piles more hide ranks with future brain eating OR, much better...
Your total hide rank, at that level, can easily still be 27 (at least) because you can have hide ranks already from your previous normal skill advancement, after all hide IS a class skill for mind flayer hit die and as far as I read the consume skill thing ADDs the ranks you eat, not overwrites (am I right?).
Anyways just spend some monster hit die skill points and eat a legal 16 rank target for the net 27 ranks and its all legal.

Re: Best Illthid Savant Class contest entries.
I threw in the ability to be cheeky. You can easily get a Hide of 19 off of a CR 11 Fire Giant with a level of Rogue(or any other "high HD/low CR" monster with a level of Rogue who cross-classes on monster levels and maxes out during his one rogue level) and avoid the problem entirely.
Just not having the ability doesn't change the guy's main schtick(immortal/doesn't die easily). I wasn't even minmaxing for real power. I'll do that version later.

Re:
Way to derail the contest thread guys.
"But transportation issues are social-justice issues. The toll of bad transit policies and worse infrastructure—trains and buses that don’t run well and badly serve low-income neighborhoods, vehicular traffic that pollutes the environment and endangers the lives of cyclists and pedestrians—is borne disproportionately by black and brown communities."
